Sudanese children are our priority for 2026

Firstly, many many thanks to all of you who responded so quickly to the news of our work on behalf of Palestinians in Cairo, in partnership with SAMS Foundation.  You have made donations that have enabled us to extend the support and supervision we are offering there, as well as plan future interventions to relieve the ongoing suffering of many children. We have been especially affected by the news coming from Lulu Emmanuel, a trained doctor and senior CATT trainer, who is working as a volunteer in refugee settlements in northern Uganda, overwhelmed by both Sudanese and South Sudanese people escaping southwards.  He has sent us some shocking and heart-breaking photographs like this one. ACTI trustees decided at their December meeting to prioritise trauma training here in 2026, and we are now working on a New Year campaign to raise money for this. So watch this space! In the meantime we send heartfelt wishes for peace and a better world in 2026.

We cannot change what has happened to children caught up in war and conflict, but we can – and do – change what happens next. By healing young minds, we give them another chance at life.
