A record-breaking summer!

We have plenty to celebrate this summer, as we have surpassed all our fundraising targets thanks to the amazing efforts of our friends and fundraisers, new and old. One highlight was that in May, Ben Maschler and Ed Dickie (self-confessed non-cyclists!) cycled from London to Paris and raised an astonishing £15,000 for us. We cannot thank them enough.  The stars aligned to enable us to commit in June to our full programme of activity in our final year.  Specifically, we’ve been able to proceed quickly with much needed training for people working in the settlements in northern Uganda, where Sudanese refugee children like Nafisa are living now.  Here are the new counsellors proudly waving their certificates in thanks to everyone, at the end of training in Arua in May.  They have already begun treating children and sharing their knowledge of trauma with the local communities.
